Hand Crafted Traditional Scottish Highland Targes. The Targe Man has developed his own style of targe making over 5 years, staying away from the brass and shiny look to make his targes look older and antiquated. This comes from his experience as an active Jacobite re-enactor, when he noticed that most re-enactors targes looked too new to be believable. His targes are all expertly made by hand. Hand tooled leather engraved with Celtic patterns, the metal center boss is hand crafted, and center spike is optional. Absolutely NO presses are used inthe making of this traditional targe. The back of the targe is covered in snug sheepskin with a leather arm strap and handle ( leather rest pouch for spike if spike is requested). John has many designs and encourages customers to engage in the design process before he makes their custom targe. His targes have no names and no Clans as he believes it is a one off individual piece.
